Ep. 133: Are You Afraid of the Dark? 2

It's still Halloween at the Pool Party Radio offices! As such, Mark (founder of Kissing Contest and Junk Food Dinner) is back to ask us if we're afraid of the dark.

We'll be discussing all 13 episodes of season 2 of "Are You Afraid of the Dark," our favorite SNICK show. We get a rant from Bobcat Goldthwait about how terrible SNICK shows are, we find out what's tight, Clarissa mansplains things to us, lizard men hate cassette tapes, the return of Dr. Vink and so much more!

We also talk a little bit about our Los Angeles trip and donuts and stuff.

Podcat Bros: Episode One

CAUTION: NOT A NORMAL SHOW.

Good news and bad news: The good news is that Halloween gets to last a week longer this year! The bad news is the reason for that being we're pushing our Are You Afraid of the Dark season 2 show back a week. If you were itchin' for it, sorry. You'll have it next week and you'll be able to feel nostalgic for Halloween '93 AND '13 at the same time.

The other good news is that we have an intense makeshift podcast this week. Parker and Frisbie actually met up in real life in Los Angeles (the city of Flea) and recorded a show. And, wouldn't you know it! Mark (co-founder of Junk Food Dinner and Kissing Contest) showed up, too! And it didn't end there because Cory and Shelby from Illogical Contraption showed up, too!! Sean from JFD was supposed to be there, but he was out doing LA stuff (surfing, signing contracts).

We didn't structure this, or use real mics or edit it at all. So the audio quality isn't great and there may be long stretches where we order food. But we discuss the beginnings of both JFD and Pool Party, movies, oki dogs, ghosts, British stuff, irony and so much more. And thanks to Cory for being a professional and taking the lead!

If you're familiar with the show, you know that periodically we watch entire seasons of tv shows from our youth and marvel at what they're like with adult eyes. And for the spookiest month, we're doing the spookiest SNICK show: Are you Afraid of the Dark?

Mark Freado from the Spectacle Theater and Junk Food Dinner joins us to discuss the Cabbie that says "Me?," clowns smoke so hard, we track the lineage of the Super Spex, anticlimactic foreshadowing, the episode that Stephen King is heated about, blatant Irish racism, and so many more spooky secrets.
